I'm playing both EPIK and a private school right now because I'm paranoid that one of the jobs might not work out. Both of them are waiting for my FBI CBC and the Apostilled university degree, which is still being processed. The private school is the one that I really want to work for, and EPIK is just my backup. At what point should I let EPIK know that I won't be working for them? (assuming everything goes well with the private school)

Alright. I'll keep these two jobs on the table until then.

There are plenty of people lined up and chomping at the bit to get into EPIK. It won't be a problem for them if you back out.

I'm putting my documents together to send to EPIK. One of the things included is the "Sword Declaration of Intent to Fulfill Mandatory Qualification Required for EPIK Contract." One of the items on this document says "I am currently applying for a public school position with the EPIK Program and I sincerely and full intend to fulfill the contract to begin work on February 26th, 2012 (National EPIK applicants) or March 1st, 2012 (Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education applicants) If I am selected as a successful applicant.

The private school has all my documents now and should be applying for my visa number, but I don't have it yet. I plan to send my documents to EPIK as soon as I get my other Apostilled FBI CBC, which is in the mail on it's way back to me right now. The tidbit above worries me a little bit. If I sign this aren't I committing to EPIK? I don't want both EPIK and this private school to be trying to get a visa number for me at the same time.

As far as I am aware EPIK can't process your visa until you've signed the NOA.

Neither one can do anything until they have the hard copies of your apostilled documents.

At the point where you have to send them the hard copies is when you have to pick one to send them to and are stuck with your decision.

Well, I guess I need to let EPIK know that I've taken another job; I sent my apostilled documents to the private school almost 2 weeks ago.
