I live near Seoul and I have a BS in mathematics. Are there any opportunities in Seoul (or around) to teach Mathematics in English? I have heard of some people managing to do this South Korea but I never get to find out information beyond a brief mentioning of it.

Thank you for reading this post Smile)

I would love to find a similar gig. As much as I enjoy teaching, English really isn't my subject of expertise (I'm also a math major Smile)

I feel the same. Teaching Koreans English (from children to adults) is a fun and unique experience.

Sure, I could go teach mathematics back home in the USA but it would not be the same. I enjoy interacting with Koreans in South Korea.

Ideally, I would like to teach classes at a university not normally offered in the mathematics department (my university used to do this every semester... the classes would be labeled Math 4999 or something similar). Perhaps I could teach "Cryptography in English," "Calculus in English," and so on.

You need a teaching license and a job vacancy in an international school.

Or you could teach English at a public school and butter your co-T up so they give you overtime class teaching math.

Very hard to do on an E2 visa--there are lots of Korean-Americans who can do this freelance. If you have an F visa, PM me...
