I just bought my first smartphone and am wondering what the hell to do with the thing. I know what I'd like it to do, but have no idea how to go about it and what it really can do.

At the moment I have it set up so I can get email and other social garbage on the fly...not that I really need this crud, but I figured out how to do it (ya for me...I'm a techno-tard)

I want to sync my Winamp playlists (but am open to changing if people have come to the conclusion that Winamp has started to suck). If I can use Winamp remote on my smartphone and use the Winamp interface, that would be pretty cool too.

I want to use GPS (which so far seems easy enough with Google maps, but navigation seems to be a bit trickier as everything for my phone is in Korean). I'd like to have my phone remember trips and provide me with info about shortest routes or even fastest times. This will be great for commuting and cool rides on my bike.

I want access to all my pdfs, ebooks, comics, notes and jpgs on my desktop. I also want to be able to surf for papers and journals online and then send them to my desktop. This is really why I decided to get a smartphone. I hope it will be a great study, research and work tool.

I would love to watch TV, get radio, and watch movies (I'm sure the movies thing is easy enough...but I have no idea what players would be best or if I even need one).

I would like to us this as my planner.

Is Skype actually worth using on a smartphone?

Would love to know what apps people use and how they use their phones. Now that I'm paying all this cash for it I might as well get my money's worth...unlike my wife who seems to use hers only for Angry Birds, Kakao, and web surfing (What a waste of a Galaxy S)

What phone do you have? Galaxy S?

For the docs/images stuff, I recommend DropBox (though you may need something else for the eBooks, not sure).

For the planner, use Google Calendar online.

For TV/Movies etc you'll need to find/buy files somewhere.

I use an iPhone, so if you have that I can give more in-depth tutorials. Many others use Android phones, and will definitely give info.

Yeah. Your How To is quite dependent on which phone/OS you're using.
