I just got an iPhone 4s on T-World and I literally get 50 spam text messages a day. I need to know how to quit them. Any insight?

i know that you can pull up a menu and report the number (sender) as spam. That saves you from that phone number only. You have to do that for every individual #.

Oh yeah? On the iPhone. I'm pretty sure you can't do that. I don't think you know what you're talking about.

Why don't you take it back to where you bought it and ask?

Ironically, the store might be the one that sold your number to spammers.

I remember back in 2006 when I first got a cell phone here I can say I rarely received any spam. Now, I constantly receive spam; it's annoying. I don't know what to do stop it. How do they get our numbers?

Okay, so I don't have a new-fangled smart phone but just perhaps this advice might help.

My ancient LG phone (5 years old and counting) has several options for filtering spam.

Under incoming messages there is an option called SPAM (clever that). this gives me 2 choices:

#1 Add Spam Number. This let's me add an incoming number to SPAM. This number is then blocked from now on.

#2 Add Spam String. This lets me enter Korean words so that the messages that contain these words will be blocked. This works especially well to block messages from my overly friendly bank (농협), my favorite cosmetic store (스킨푸드) and all companies offering cash loans (무이자 = no interest). Just read the incoming messages and block the words that Korean companies most often use.

Good luck.

Sounds like a feature on your old 2G phone. For some reason the iPhone doesn't allow this. Thanks though!
