This is not a university, but a 2-year college, like a junior college back home. I need a good conversation book. Any ideas?
Thanks. |

For a 2-year college, in my experience, back-to-basics, fundamental
language course, I mean back to the ABCs. Seriously. Perhaps a level 1 at
the most. Keep your expectations low and hopefully you can increase the
level as you see fit. Too high, you and the class are done for.
I know you're ask'n for book suggestions, but I need to take a look at my
museum of language books in my office to remember what I used and what
worked. |

World Link Starter, or Level 1. By far my favorite series for Korean Uni Students. |

A lot depends on your teaching style and the level of the students...
I've had college students who majored in English (things like tourism English) who were quite good and used "Can You Believe It II"...then I've had lower level students, majoring in some technology who had to have beginner stuff, like English Firsthand Access or lower.
I like the "Can You Believe it" series because it has readings, lots of pictures to talk about and listening, but everyone has different tastes |
