|
|
I'm working at a public middle school and I am renewing with them.
Do you typically sign the renewal contract before your current one is completed, or the day after your current contract is completed?
Is a visit to immigration regarding the renewal important before your current contract expires, or do you have 30 days to go to immigration and get your visa extension resolved? |

Any time within the last 60 days of your contract and BEFORE your ARC expires.
The renewal paperwork DOES entail a trip to immigration and there is NO grace period.
You will need:
ARC
passport
new contract
application for extension
fee (30k won)
new letter of guarantee (sponsorship form)
business registration for the school (copy)
The process takes about 30 minutes (plus the wait in line if you don't have an appointment).

Much appreciated ttompatz.
Can the new contract be signed any time, or can it only be signed within 60 days of the current contract completing? |

Immigration wants it all done in the last 60 days of the current contract / status of sojourn.
There have been exceptions (people re-signing and heading out of the country for a long vacation (more than 60 days) but they are few and never to my knowledge in a PS.

I'll just have to wait a little bit, since my current contract ends March 1st.
Thanks again ttompatz. |

| People in my area signed PS renewal contracts today. I suppose they'll saunter down to immi sometime prior to vacation departure. |

Which is fine provided their current contracts expire before Feb 28 (60 days hence).
Remember, there are 29 days in Feb. this year so if someone's contract doesn't expire till March 2 they would have to wait till next week before they could saunter into Kimmi.
