Have you noticed, from taxi driver ID photos to the Lotte Mart cashier ID photos, that Koreans look really good in their ID photos? Especially the cab drivers. The guy in the picture is this clean cut, presentable fellow in a crisp shirt and tie. But the guy behind the wheel ... well ... all I can say is I don't want to have a look in his glove compartment.

They dress up for one day, and have the photo touched up.

I looked great in my hagwon promo photo. Well, I look great anyway....

When I was hired for my first job, my former co-worker and I were told to send a Passport photo to our boss. We did, and he used it in a huge ad. He plastered posters all over the walls, and ran ads everywhere in the area.

We both hated it, because our photos looked like horrible 10-minute passport photos.

I went to get my passport photo done for my ARC at a local place in mokdong and I swear it took 30 minutes as they took multiple shots and digitally retouched them... I think I should get a whole bunch done before I leave so I can look nice in all my pictures for the next few years.

You should see my ID photo in my alien card.

The worst photo I have ever had...do know how the Koreans pull off such good photos but I never really thought about it until it was mentioned on here. Very true.

My passport photo, driver's license, university ID, and ARC are some of the absolute worst pictures ever taken of any human being.

Moi aussi. This is why I'm saying, we got to import those Korean ID cams to North America.

As scary as it sounds, I have this theory that your driver's license photo is how people really see you in real life. It's kind of like how your voice on a tape recorder is how people actually hear you.
