Does anyone know if korean phones are already unlocked for use on other networks? Is it possible to use my phone on other networks once I have cancelled my contract?
I have a galaxy s2 lte 2 year contract with LG U PLUS, but have to break it because I am leaving Korea. If i recall correctly, they said that it would cost me 170,000 to break the contract. Anyway, I want to sell the phone after I break the contract to make up for the 170,000. So I just put an add up on craigslist to see if I could sell the phone for around that price, and the most common question I am getting is this:
Is the phone unlocked? Can it be used with other networks (SK and KT).
Thanks. |

i'm fairly sure if you are switching operators and you own the phone that the phones either come unlocked or you can request the operator to unlock them. however, lg u plus uses different bands for most of their core frequencies than kt and sk do, so i think your s II lte will have to remain on lg u plus. |
