How did you obtain such a job? Where should I look?

To be honest Seoul is cool and all, but if you can get into a good area in Gyeonggi-do, I think you'll like it. Take for example the cities of Ilsan and Bundang. Cities that were pretty much built in the 90's, so they're nicely planned and very modern. Then, you can just take a 20 min subway ride into Seoul after work, or on the weekends whenever you want.

20 minutes to Seoul is a bit of a stretch for Ilsan. Ilsan covers a large area (as does Seoul). So you might be able to get to the very Western edge of Seoul from the very Eastern edge of Ilsan. But most people live further west in Ilsan, and most areas of Seoul that you want to visit are further Central. So it's more like 40-50 minutes, if you live near the #3 line. Even longer if you need to take a bus to get to the subway line.
