Is it necessary to have a mobile phone or better to get the phone on in Korea?.Is it better to bring one from Oz or should I wait and buy one in Korea ? I intend to keep in touch with family by email so just want some advice on whether a mobile is a necessity

Wait until you get here.

The mobile phones we use in Australia are not compitable to the frequencies that are used here.

Here is the mobile phone capital of the world(get used to calling it a hand phone) so everyone has one but it isn't a neccesity.

The first 18 months I was here I didn't have one but it is more convenient as they are knocking out all the pay phones rapidly because they are losing money as nobody is using them.
