A bunch of us are flying to Shanghai from Cheongju airport late in June. Can we get a reentry stamp at the airport or do we need to go an immmigration office before hand.

Thanks

I would recommend going to Immigration.

What i hear Cheongju International only serves maybe 3 flights a week so the demand for an immigration service is very small.

Just my guess

I actually went from Cheongju to Shanghai when i was living in Cheongju during 2001-2003. I went to the immigration office to get the re-entry permit. It literally took five minutes, and the guy speaks Eglish if you need it anyways. The Cheongju airport, though international, is really quiet. You can take a standard public bus out there - find out from the info centre next to the regular bus terminal in Gagyeong-dong. I guess you're flying with China Air or something - don't lose the ticket, as they expect you to buy a new one if you still wish to go. You don't get a refund unless you
a) find the lost ticket and take it to them (minus a small fee)
b) wait 1.5 years and are still in Korea to reclaim the ticket amount

...obviously, this happened to me (but the lost ticket was returned to me, fortunately later by a nice citizen...). Also - DO NOT go to the police and expect them to help you get your lost ticket in the lost bag you left on the public bus (even though you know the bus number, its direction, and driver's face) - they won't help (though they will give you a free ride to the Cheongju Aiport to buy that new replacement ticket...).

*ahem*

For what Cheongju Airport actually serves see www.travelocity.com, www.cheaptickets.com, or www.expedia.com. The airport code is CJJ.
