Hi,

I am hoping to change jobs to start the new one in June.

I have signed a full year contract extension but the boss knows I'm leaving in mid May. I don't want to tell him I'm returning to Korea in case he gets shitty about the airfare home between the two jobs.

If I want to avoid having him involved I think this is the course of action I should take:

Get new docs, give new docs to new employer, leave Korea and hand in ARC on the way out, get new visa number, visit embassy, get new visa, return to Korea.

My question is can I be issued a new visa number before I hand in my ARC?

Or will Kimmi only issue the number after I cancel my current visa?

Also, has anyone had employers be shitty with them about going home between contracts? Reference problems or problems getting the flight money?

Thanks.

End contract.

Go to immigration and transfer your visa (ca be done any time within the last 7 days of your contract and up until the expiry of your ARC.

Alternatively, end contract, switch to d10 (50k won).
Take a week off (won't be able to leave cause you won't have an ARC).
Get a new E2 from the new employer

Will I need to get a letter of release to end the contract? It is awkward as it's signed for a year but that was how the director wanted to do things!
