I'm wanting to buy a foam roller, but don't recall every seeing them in Korea.

Anyone happen to spot them somewhere in Seoul?

The only place I know is Amazon (not in Korea, I know). Besides that, you could go to one of those hole in the wall 철물 shops and get them to cut a piece of PVC pipe for you. I did that- it was 5,000 won and aside from the fact that I have to be careful to avoid bones (that hurts!) it works better than foam for my lower back, psoras, IT bands, etc.

Saw one at Emart yesterday in the exercise section. It was 25,000 won though, so maybe the PVC pipe is a better deal! You could also buy a cheap yoga mat and duct tape it together tightly and use that....

Hmmm.. perhaps the Emart next to my house is just lacking... they don't have one. I'll have to check out a different location.

Truth be told, I was hoping to hear of a district for this sort of stuff. Every other product seems to have its own neighbourhood, so I figured there'd be a gaggle of fitness equipment shops somewhere.

I have yet to see one in a store though they are available on Gmarket.

You can also get a meter of PVC and wrap it with sections of a yoga mat or foam insulation and duct tape. Works well.

Costco in Daegu sold a Yoga mat/roller combo. The Costco's in Seoul might have them. I've seen them at Homeplus and Emart too.

I checked out a larger Emart today - no go. Just mats.

I know I can improvise, but was kind of hoping to find the actual roll.

Hmmm.... will keep on hunting.
