Hi All,
I applied for a d-10 on friday and they took my arc card and told me that I can pick up the new one in 10 days.. I am flying to japan on wednesday for a wedding for a few days. I completely didnt think that I wont have my arc card.. will I be able to get through immigration without my arc card? I have my passport obviously with my visa in it. Anyone had this experience before?
Thanks for your input!! |

I was able to get thru immigration without my ARC. Immigration doesn't like it and they will tell you so when you show up at Immi at the airport. |

3000 won - get a certificate of alien residency from the immigration office.
If you are in Seoul, walk in the door of the main immi office and turn left instead of right (where we usually go for immi stuff).

They just wrote a note on the back of my ARC card and handed it back to me saying the process was done. I'm married and switching to the F-6 soon, but the hagwon I worked at isn't considered a 어학원 so I had to switch to the D-10 in the mean time. |

Tom are you sure it is the Certificate of Residency?

I thought the Certificate of Foreigner Registration would be better.

I also recommend people have a good scan and print out of ARC. Sometimes just having a copy is nice way to show when you either do not want to carry or somebody might need to keep a copy. Remember to get the back.
Good Luck |
