After waiting for 4 months I FINALLY got my RCMP check.
I thought it would never come but now that it has what do I do with it???
I am currently in Korea on an e-2 visa and I am soon changing jobs. I'm told that I may or may not need to provide it at all but in case I do need to, what do I do with it now?
Thanks!!! |

It needs the consular seal first. He must mail it to a Korean Consulate in Canada, and then they must send it back with the affixed seal. |

He doesn't need to do that. If you're in the country either visit the Canadian Consulate in Busan or the Embassy in Seoul and they can verify it for the right amount of money. (pretty sure you can mail it to them if you live far away; best call them to be sure) Then bring it to your Immigration office pass it in and done.
I did this last June so this is first hand knowledge. |

I am going to be in Canada next week with my RCMP check. I know that I need to go to Korean consulate in Toronto to get it stamped but do I need to get it signed at a notary public first or can I take it there as is. I remember when I first came to Korea a couple of years ago having to get it notarized first but really not sure. |

I'm not a fan on the Canadian Embassy in Seoul either, but to be fair, they probably did this to avoid answering the thousands of calls from Koreans looking to emigrate to Canada. |

Your CBC does not need to be notarized for the embassy to certify it. |

I have in my hands presently the RCMP handout I picked up at the Embassy in Seoul two weeks ago. It is specificially written for "Teaching English in Korea (E-2 Visa)" To quote them
" Once the criminal record certificate is received the Embassy/Consulate notarisation is required for apostille:
- Bring the criminal record check certificate with your passport
- Complete a statutory declaration form prepared at the Embassy
- There is a fee of $50 CAN or the Korean Won equivalent for the service" |
