Hello

I applied through EPIK for SMOE, passed the interview last year but they still haven't given me a job.

They have a full set of my documents and can't give them back for me to find something else.

So, after some phone calls, time and money, I almost have a new complete set.

If I apply directly to SMOE (I have found a recruiter that does just this), is there a chance that the same thing will happen again?
e.g taking my docs, not giving me a job and not giving the docs back?

Thanks

Ask them?

When I applied to EPIK, during my EPIK interview it was made very clear that this was a possibility, and under no circumstances would my documents be returned. (Even though I'm living in Seoul, and would have dropped by the offices to pick them up). This was the main reason I didn't follow up with my application.

I had the same thing happened to me. Went through EPIK to get into SMOE, but got rejected, after I spent all the money (Probably 300 dollars in total) to get all the paperwork in.

I would go through GEPIK (Which is what I did). I had my recruiter hunt for schools for me in Gyeonggi-do. If I liked the location, the recruiter would set up an interview with me and the school via skype. After the interview, if they liked me, THEN I would send in the required documents. So pretty much I was set for a job, where I knew the location and what kind of school it was, before I sent in all the documents that took so much time and money to get.
