My girlfriend and I are currently located in the Chumdan Area of Kwangju. Its a bit in the outskirts so we would like to know if anyone could give us info on Hogwans in Songmu. Whether they are good or not and whether they will be hiring any time soon

cheers

As far as I remember Sangmu-chigu wasn't exactly downtown either.

there are a bunch of hogwons in sangmu. Biggest one is the ECC in the Kookmin Bank building near Outback. From what I know there is a huge turnover there but they work their a$$es off for little money

Sangmu may be out in the sticks but there is a lot there including when I left something like 70 love hotels. Our old univ just moved their teachers out there and they say with the subway its 10 minutes to downtown

to tell the truth.. i've found most hakwons in gwangju pay little and want more... housing is shared and they seem to offer the worst deal every time i've looked for a job...

i have many, many korean friends in gwang ju, but, when the time comes, there is nothing on offer that would make me take a position there..

my wifes family is based in san chon dong (next to sang mu) but i can't seem to find anything that would justify moving back there.. i'll prolly go up this weekend, beer tastes better when you drink with me... Razz offer is open if you're interested..

cheers
