This is for me, as a non-native speaker, an absurd question. I guess it fits in the line with organic food. I don't mean it's anything wrong with it, just that I would consider white bread as wheat bread and all food as organic.
I haven't been to Haebangchon, so I can't answer your question well. Most bakeries have plenty of non-wheat bread (corn, rice, rye), but it is very difficult to find anything resembling whole grain bread. HomePlus has some types of bread which are not pre-sliced which looks a little coarser and Paris baguette's rye bread might be slightly better than their white bread. I only know one bakery in Daejeon, Sung Sim Dang, which sells anything I would consider whole grain bread, but I don't think it's a chain store. |

Try the Paris Baguette. They ought to have small walnut & rye and whole grain mini loaves.
Oh, and I haven't been to it yet, but a bakery opened on the other side of the pedestrian overpass, the one that crosses over into Gyeongnidan, down the right set of steps on the Gyeongnidan side. Saw a Westerner owner/manager type inside so perhaps it's worth a look. |

The place Zyzyfer is talking about is near the footbridge that connects HBC to Kyungridan. It is owned by a German baker, Mica, and his Korean wife. He makes EVERYTHING and you can special order from him. They are the "Mira Bakery" that used to be at High Street Market, but they moved out of there a couple of months ago and opened this place. They sell hummus, breadcrumbs, pastries, cakes, cookies, brownies, etc. They also sell beer and wine and have recently started serving dinner and lunch specials. Go there are support them because they are awesome!! The store is literally at the bottom of the footbridge on the Kyungridan side...right near the second-hand furniture shops. |

Pinoy Mart in HBC usually has loaves of (sliced) whole grain/wheat bread. Sometimes hamburger buns also. Diet Mt. Dew and decent beer selection, too. Just don't ask them any questions about where they got it all, if you get my drift.................. |

I've tried out The Baker's Table a few times now. Sandwiches in particular. Not bad, but I got a sandwich on focaccia bread the first time and haven't since.
Anyway, I noticed they have Smithwicks on tap. Nice! |
