|
|
Someone is staying with me and she leaves at 8 AM Saturday morning. What are her options? I don't think the subway will work, because it doesn't open until 6 (right?)... does anyone know the earliest airport limo bus, what time it gets going, and from where?
I live in Haebangchon.
Also, I seem to remember being in a similar situation and just sleeping at the airport, which was disappointing. I only had access to that awesome lounge (by the museum and massage chairs) AFTER check-in, which couldn't occur until a few hours before my flight.
Am I remembering this correctly, or has anyone out there had a better experience sleeping at the airport? |

There is a sauna in the basement of Incheon airport where your friend can sleep. It's a bit pricey compared to other Korean saunas but well worth it and still cheaper than the hotels near the airport! |

Don't be late!!!! Last time I took a flight, I arrived only 30 min before the plane took off.
They didn't allow me to board but somehow I had only one bag that didn't have to check, after talking to the captain, they finally told me I could check in if I agreed not to have any food (because they didn't prepare mine),I seriously signed an agreement that I was not going to eat the meal.
it took another 15min for the security inspection since I had two bottles of lotion in my bag.
The flight almost took off immediately after I was seated down.
I was lucky and after all, its worth giving up that beef breakfast. |

There's no. 6060 airport bus which departs from Shin-Geumho Metro station as early as 04:40 heading for ICN via Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon. To be more specific, NOT the front lobby of the hotel BUT the regular westbound bus stop some 60 meters west of Exit 1 of Itaewon station. (hence even closer to HBC)
From Shin-Geumho to Itaewon, it is expected to take about 15~20 minutes under daytime traffic, therefore it should pass Hamilton Hotel bus stop at or slightly before 05:00. Runs in every half an hour, 15000 Won.
Once it calls at Hamilton, it makes just one more stop at Ichon Metro station, and then off to ICN non-stop.
Your friend should be in time for check-in with the first run of the day. |

buses also run very early (4am) from Express bus terminal. takes less than an hour usually.
Be sure to get the one not stopping at Gimpo. This bus is nonstop and clearly marked. Also, if you know the area well, once you pass over Banpo bridge, you could (instead of turning left to Express bus) turn right and go the the next airport bus stop. Maybe about 3 blocks. THis saves you from making that left turn to E.bus terminal and then having to cross to the north side of the street. A taxi from HBC will be around 5-6000won to that bus stop.
I always take this bus rather than the Itaewon or Hyatt bus, since it's non stop and gets directly onto the freeway. |
