| I am currently working on my TEFL course and background check. I was just curious how most of those recruiters go about hiring people. Do they have headhunters who operate in the states and physically interview candidates or are the interviews done mainly over the phone? |

The vast majority of jobs in Korea are filled by recruiters/head hunters and interview are done by phone or skype.
