1. What level do you teach? Elementary, Middle, High School
2. How many CTs do you have?
3. How many years of TESOL experience does each have?
I've only worked in my current school and this is the end of my first year.
Both of my CTs were new to TESOL. I thought that was probably unusual.
Today, the Korean teacher's got their assignments for next school year (March), and at least one of the CTs - my primary CT - is switching to a homeroom.
They are going to have an irregular teacher take her place. This woman taught music 1st semester this year then left the school. Now, she's back and will do English for 6 months then be replaced. I think the current CT said she'd be replaced by the current music teacher who is going back to college classes for 6 months - maybe to get TESOL credentials???
My other CT had taught for 8 years but not TESOL and most or all of it in high school. (The primary CT was also the youngest teacher in the school - thus least experienced overall.)
Now I'm wondering, is this common? How much experience do our CTs have in TESOL?
I thought Korean teachers for 1 1/2 years before transferring to a regular school to teach kids. The teachers were all ages and some had many years experience teaching. I just assumed they had been teaching the same subject (ESL) for much of that time. |

It varies widely. Some have no experience, some have a lot and some are in between.
But to answer your other questions:
1. Currently high school. Before that middle school and before that elementary.
2. Currently 3.
3. No clue as to their actual TESOL experience...but it doesn't appear if they have much if any. They basically just explain anything difficult in Korean.
Same went for the middle school and elementary school (when they were there).
And yeah my primary CT is also the youngest and least experienced...actually she's not even a regular tenured teacher but on contract like yours truly. |

3. 0 but he's such a stud-muffin so nobody can even think about learning anyway. He should'd been a movie actor. |
