Hey, just wanted to ask for advice. I brought my Galaxy SII to Thailand, and switched the Korean SIM card (SK is my provider) for a Thai SIM card. I.e., I went into a 7-Eleven, and they hooked me up to a Thai network, DTAC. So my cell operates with a Thai phone #, now. (The weird thing about DTAC is that phone calls are operational, but I can't send texts, although I can receive texts.)
My big question is, as far as SK is concerned, I am completely off the grid, right? If there's no Korean SIM card in my phone, then I assume there's no Korean bill accumulating aside from my regular monthly charges.
I also visited the US recently with my Samsung, and forgot to set it to airplane mode. But I only used the cell as a backup alarm clock--I didn't call/text or go online--so I'm hoping I'm safe there, as well.
Thanks in advance! I've tried to answer my own question online but thought I'd ask the always-helpful colleagues at Dave's. It would be a tragedy indeed if my hard-earned Korean savings were blown on a gargantuan phone bill |
