Hey, looking into plane ticket costs... Korean Air is quoting nearly 1000 Euros, others I've found for about 500. Whats your experience with flights and companies? Any suggestions? |

I've flown between the two countries using Korean Air, Asiana, Air China, and Cathay Pacific/British Airways.
Asiana were the best of the bunch (until the flight experienced difficulties due to the weather then the customer service was the worst I've ever experienced).
Looking at Cheapoair's website, I'd toss a coin to decide between Emirates or Air China. Both have similarly priced flights. I think Emirates' baggage allowance is 30kg compared to Air China's 20kg. |

Just get the cheapest direct, I would try for Asiana on Opodo. |

Emirates is a good airline. They fly daily from lot of places in the UK to Dubai, then you can tranfer for a flight to Seoul. Costs about 450 quid. I suppose you could fly directly from Heathrow with Korean Air but that costs way more |

Thanks for the suggestions, Emirates looks good at about 500, I'll have a look at Air China and Asiana now. |

The cheapest flight I've come across (and I know it's the cheapest because my boss booked it!) was via Russia for 400ish won. The best airline is probably Emirates for the luggage allowance, and because you get entertainment on both legs of the journey. I flew via Turkey in 2009 and it was ok on the longer flight, but the short flight between Turkey and Manchester was a bit cramped. I remember a really ill advised game of 'be cute and pull faces at the kids' with a little girl that never ended, but I doubt she's on every flight. |

Flown between Korea and London a number of times using:
* Asiana, direct it is more expensive but by much easier (11 hours done).
* British Airways & Catay Pacific via Hong Kong which was very nice and no issues however a little long.
* British Airways & Asiana via Tokyo which again was nice however the connection was tricky because of the language barrier.
* Virgin Atlantic & Korean Air via Tokyo which was not great because Virgins entertainment system was dated. Also had a 15hour layover.
* Alitalia & Asiana via Rome and Tokyo, took a very long time but all of the flights where half full and so space and service where great.
Flying back to Korea with my fiance in around 6 weeks and this time using Emirates, mainly due to the 3hour stopover, check this before booking because sometimes the stopover can cause you to have to go thought immigration and checkin for your connecting flight.
Good Luck |

hey there
try lufthansa. i flew with them from manchester, via frankfurt. it cost me approx. 450quid. however, that was back in 2009, so i'm sure the prices may have gone up since then. but they were really good. one of the better airlines i've flown with. |

Anything under 700 return to the UK is pretty reasonable right now. I would only say avoid China if possible, I just flew China Southern tickets (KLM and Korean Air planes on all but one of the flights) to save 150, lost baggage and generally bad experience transferring in Beijing both ways. I'll be spending that money in future.
Must be said that the one actual China Southern flight was great, new planes and good service except for the hard liquor selection. |

Also check the prices of returns. I ended up buying a return ticket with Lufthansa because it was 80 pounds cheaper than a single.
Of the non-direct airlines Emirates was the best. The only downside to middleEast airlines is that the Seoul to Arabia flight is alway at about 1-2am with 99% of the airport closed down by 10pm. |
