I was wondering if this is possible and does it cost more than a normal 30day visa? |

Usually no for a tourist visa but its quite easy to extend a tourist visa in china. You can extend twice, 30 days each time. |

Actually, it is possible to get a three month visa, even a 6 month visa, but the latter you generally have to apply for from your own country. I got a 6 month double entry visa in May of 2011 in Australia (I'm Canadian) but the stipulation was that I had to leave after 3 months and come back in. Considering I was in Qinghai at the 3 month mark and the nearest exits were Russia or Mongolia, and I didn't want to waste monty flying, I just got an extension. They said they'd do 2 30 day extensions max. The extension was fairly painless to get.
I would have been able to get the striaght 6 month visa if I had applied in Canada.
One thing to consider is that if you are in Korea, you might want to fedex your passport and apply through the Chinese consulate in yoru home country, just be sure to contact that consulate for confirmation.
Good luck!
EDIT - costs depend on your own country of origin, and you'd be able to google that info yourself. |
