Hey y'all,
My dumb a$s finally figured out this HDMI/Macbook business. No real complaints... but one odd thing I've noticed is the color red shows up on my TV as orange. Actually pretty noticeable. I'm a big movie geek who loves studying colors/lighting/photography/etc. and this is kind of annoying me.
My TV is in Korean, but I know how to make color adjustments. I have fiddled endlessly with it and the orange will just not turn red. I even had a K Girl check this out and she couldn't fix it either.
Anyone heard of this? Any suggestions? TV is almost brand new, so I don't think and certainly hope that's not the source of the problem... |

Any time I walk through a TV shop I'm struck by the differences in colour between brands. I've never had the same colours on my monitor and TV. Never. That includes now with my HDMI, HP monitor and LG 42", 1080p TV.
I suspect it's a green (yellow?) issue but who knows? Google is your friend.
AFAIK you just have to live with it unless you know for a fact that your TV is not working properly. That's a different issue between you and the vendor or manufacturer. |

Sounds to me like it's an issue with your TV. HDMI is a digital signal, which means it's either going to be working or not. If your Macbook video settings are at default, then I would imagine the TV must be the culprit.
What is the brand? |

. Factory settings on TVs are almost always tweaked to maximum brightness and contrast and are enabled with image "edge enhancement" features as well. Manufacturers do this so that the TV picture will "pop" on the retail store floor compared to other models. |

That's a good point but I'm talking about colour. |
