I hailed a cab, and the guy who drove it was old and watching Buddhist TV. He had a picture of Buddha, and he had some scripture on the wheel, and he had a shaved head. Could he be a Buddhist monk cabbie? I told him to keep the change. He wasn't the best driver, but he was old. It was an interesting experience. |

All Buddhist monks work, but not in typical jobs like driving a taxi. They usually conduct their work (and live) at their local temple, but can sometimes work with people in the community. Perhaps he was a "retired" monk? Or just a really devout follower of Buddhism? |

He was definitely very devout, but he had a shaved head. Isn't that unusual if you're not a monk? |
