Im sure there will be various answers to this, but am curious all the same. I looked through the new E-2 regulations sticky, but that seemed to be more for people already in Korea and had more to do with the FBI/RCMP check. And considering how frequently the regulations change, not sure theres much point making stickies on the subject.
Im more wondering about people whove recently (~Spring 2012) applied for their visa here in the US...what they brought (or mailed) to the consulate. (Perhaps, in particular, the one in DC.)
When I applied for GEPIK in 2009, seemed pretty simple. I only remember bringing a photocopy of my CBC, the visa application, my passport, and I think a copy of the contract.
Now this list seems a little longer and includes a letter of personal reference. What is that?
Most of the list on the website seems pretty clear (but still have a few question marks):
passport
visa application (with the visa number)
Consuls checklist
passport photo (still need 4?)
diploma copy notarized and apostilled *
FBI Check (apostilled) *
It doesnt say on the website whether photocopies are ok for the diploma and CBC. I actually do have extra apostilled diploma copies and an extra CBC, but I was hoping not to blow through my extra copies (especially the CBC - its the last of my 3 copies) before I even leave the country.
I wasnt able to contact the consulate today, but will contact them tomorrow. Because of the time difference between here and Korea, I wanted to get my question out tonight while its still midday in Korea.
Again, Im doing this through the consulate in DC (same place I got my E-2 in 2009).
Thanks, in advance. |
