Yonhap is reporting that a train derailed at Jongno-5-ga about 40 minutes ago.

Wow.... how does that happen?

Things are moving again but cars are too packed to accept people. Old people behind me got smashed and couldn't breathe, so I had to kindly yet forcefully push some people out who refused to stop trying.

Pipe burst and frozen tracks would be my guess.

I'm glad I missed all of that nonsense when I was at Seoul Station earlier.

*Edit*

Wow, I should say, I'm glad I took a taxi instead of the train.

Also, This morning at Suwon Station, all of the electronic ticket machines were busted. It couldn't be THAT cold.

Maybe an electrical outage after things warmed up. It's quite possible the damage was done earlier in January, and now water is getting through newly made cracks. I have never seen all ticket machines stop working. It's always just one or maybe two being worked on.

It definitely wasn't an outage. The machines were all running, but the screens just had lines of color running through them and pieces of paper taped over them with a message in Korean.

My Korean is on the low low beginner side so I had no idea what the problem was. I just know I had to wait in a long line to get my ticket to Seoul Station.

This wasn't the metro lines, so I can't tell you how bad it was in that part of the station.
