I haven't followed Dave's much for awhile, but it seems to me there are more of the "horrible hakwon" stories coming out recently. It is starting to sound to me like it did in the late 1990s when the Korean economy collapsed during the IMF period.

Back then, there were many stories of hakwons closing the doors suddenly - people getting paid only part of what their contract stated - and a lot of people needing advice about situations going bad and worse.

People who've been reading Dave's consistently, is there an up tick in stories like this or is it about the normal volume?

Normal volume.

Also not as always that people with a gripe tend to be more vocal and thereby may not represent the population of teachers out there accurately...

Take what you read here with a gigantic grain of salt.
