Il almost certainly be teaching in either Seoul, Busan or Incheon in a few months, I'm an avid weightlifter so will be looking for a decent gym when I get to Korea.

Are there many decent bodybuilding gyms in the major Korean cities? Any of these cities better than the others for serious gyms?

1. Go to google.com.

2. Type this into google: site:eslcafe.com [your highly original question or it's keywords]

This will help you search for info on this site. Thsi question has been asked many times.

What's your purpose in lifting, powerlifting, bodybuilding, strength or just plain fitness?

There is a gym called speed and power somewhere in Seoul. It's a crossfit/powerlifting gym.

For bodybuilding, you might have to ask around a bit. They're not that common. But they're here.

I know there is an olympic/powerlifting place in Incheon. I've seen videos.

I always use this: http://searcheslcafe.com/ because it searches other sites too.

Finding a gym in Korea involves walking around the streets looking up at the signs, there are plenty around but unless you're looking for them you won't notice.

Nice ! Thank you for the link. Flying in for first time next Saturday so this'll definitely help streamline the search process.

I suppose I have taken it quite seriously since here. I have a deadlift upwards of 600 pounds, and bench well into the 300's and I am around 200 lbs.

First, dumbbells don't go past 50 KG, so you will have to begin alot of barbell work. Second, alot of places wont want you doing deadlifts. Chicken, meat is expensive here as is protein powder. You will have to order online off gm arket or supplement websites, which u may need a Korean ID for.

Gyms suck here and I have to go to Incheon to find a mere decent one which cost me around 8 00 000 a year.

But then again, if you arent too serious there are plenty of gyms that would meet ur needs. If you are tryyg to bodybuild or powerlift, wont be that easy.

Also, will be pretty isolating if you dont drink. So if you are a "serious" weightlifter its not ideal. Casual one wont be a problem.

It'll be hard to find a gym that has more than one bench press and even one squat rack. Most gyms are filled with machines.
