I read that you should only use one recruiter for GEPIK, otherwise you'll get rejected by GEPIK.

Is this true?

If it is, then how do you switch to a new recruiter if your current recruiter sucks?

That's not entirely true. Use as many recruiters as you want, but only one recruiter may actually submit your application to GEPIK. If GEPIK receives an application for the same teacher from multiple recruiters, then they're likely to reject it.

I just tell multiple recruiters I'm looking for a job in Bundang, wait until I receive job offers, go with the one recruiter who gives me the best offer and then that one recruiter will submit my application to GEPIK?

Will recruiters automatically submit my application to GEPIK without asking me?

The application to GEPIK is an actual application - one that you have to take the time to fill out, sign, affix your photo to, etc. Ideally, your gameplan with recruiters is: "find me a job in Bundang that I will like. I will speak to the school & former NET, and find out if I want to work there. If I do, I'll send you my GEPIK application and you can tell GEPIK that that school is my first choice".

Unfortunately, some recruiters will stick to the rule that they're not supposed to tell you for which schools they are hiring, and that you therefore aren't allowed to know anything whatsoever until you hand them your application. If you're cool with that, that's okay - hand them your application, close your eyes, and hope for the best.

Personally though, if I can't interview with the school first, then I don't submit my application.

Should I provide each recruiter with my resume/photo, or should I just give them basic information about myself (i.e. experience and education)?

You will definitely have to provide them with your resume/photo. They've gotta have something to work with, right? No school will give them the time of day unless they send them your resume/photo.

But if you have 5 recruiters, each with your resume/photo, bugging the same public school in Bundang won't the school/GEPIK reject you?

Yes.

Luckily, for reasons of territory/probability, that doesn't happen often enough to give us teachers pause.

How many recruiters would you recommend I use for finding an elementary public school job in Bundang for an odd hiring time of the year (not March/September hiring times)?

Just go through them in sequence:

If Rowan at ESL Planet tells you he can't help you out (and if he can't help you, he'll say so, since he's by far the best out there), then move onto someone at Korvia and then someone at WorkNPlay. Give them a few days to get back to you with updates (they don't have to find you something within a few days, but they do have to stay in touch and keep answering your questions), and then move onto someone at the next reputable recruitment agency. Try not to have more than a couple working for you at any given time, though. Obviously, as you intimated, one at a time is safest, but not usually very effective.

The list of good vs. bad recruiters goes beyond the scope of this discussion, but it's well covered on these boards. Plus, perhaps someone else will chime into this thread with their favorite picks.

I know this thread is from a while ago, but I was wondering how it went for you? I am also planning to use multiple positions, but I want my start date to be at around September.
