Hi All
Daniel Learning Centre, Lee Beom Suk.
I am posting this to make people aware of a rogue academy boss operating in Seoul, Cheonan, Daejon and Incheon. His academy name is Daniel Learning Center, he operates after school English programs with a number of different public schools. Do not work for this man, he is a gangster completely bereft of any moral or ethical values and has no respect for anyone but himself.
I worked for him for 4 months, during that time he routinely made pay deductions for bizarre, unjustified reasons and has tried to blackmail me out of 5 weeks wages by saying he will not give me a letter of release for my visa. He is a dangerous individual and has a history of treating foreign and indeed the Korean teachers he has working for him terribly. I hope this post brings him to the attention of others as it may help drive him out of business if can't find people to work for him.
His office is in Cheonan and he has an assistant by the name of "James". Do yourself a favor and stay well away.
Just to maximise google hits for anyone screening. Its Mr Lee (Beom Suk) Daniel Learning Center or Daniel Academy. He masquerades as a good religious man but he conducts himself as satan would.
Cheers
Sanmiguel

I, too, worked for this slimeball. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!
I could only handle 5 months of working for him before I found a new job and made a break for it. He would call us randomly tell us we were bad teachers and harass us to no end. The worst five months of my life were spent working for that asshole.
Taxes were never paid as well as pension and health care. My salary was 2.2million and I would get barely over 1.8million every payday. Why? Who knows. When I asked him about it he got angry and played the "I don't speak-y Engrish" card.
He would require us to attend pointless Saturday meetings (unpaid) then leave us stranded in Incheon and expect us to pay for our own way home.
Worst job I've ever had in Korea. Everyone who has ever worked for him has had ulcers the size of baseballs after dealing with him.
Thanks Sanmiguel for posting this. I'd completely forgotten to mention something once I settled into my new job. You're doing the ESL community a huge favor by posting this. |
