I was hoping it is possible to buy a keg of beer for a friends Christmas party. Is this possible?
Thanks much. |

I've never heard of anything like this in Korea, unfortunately. Koreans aren't really into keggers/house parties w/jello shots, etc. Seems they'd rather go out to the bars. But perhaps someone else knows of a place to get kegs? |

You can beer mini-kegs of Heineken from Lottemart but its not really the same.
I've seen Kegs of Cass at small festivals however I don't know where you can get them. |

If you call up those guys they can help sort you out.
I looked into it for an event about 2 years ago but decided it wasn't worth it.
When I called them they wanted 170,000 won for a 20 liter keg and equipment rental for one day with delivery and pickup included. The prices come down a bit if you buy some of the equipment yourself but not by a huge amount, and certainly not worth it if this is just a one time event. The little hand pump taps that are standard at any college party in America seem to not exist in Korea for some reason. So you need CO2 tanks and all that extra hassle.
So unless you're dead set on a keg, or you find another company to deal with, you'll almost certainly spend less by buying cans or bottles. |

So much expense and hassle to drink some Cass??? Yuck.
Your Christmas party guests will love you more if you just go to Costco and stock up on imported beer, imported cold cuts and imported nibbles. |

http://www.kapa.co.kr Ka-brew. where craftworks gets it's beer from- I think. Anyways, they have keg service, I think it is far cheaper to pick it up yourself- check out the page and you can get all of the details from it. |

Hey there Thomas,
I'm actually part of a new, small beer making company called Magpie Brewing. PM me about kegs. They are roughly 120,000W and will serve 40 500mL glasses. |

Cool, I wouldn't mind getting one for a Christmas party.
1/ Is delivery included? To where? Incheon? Should I pick it up?
2/ What kind of beer?
3/ Does the 120,000 include the gear?
4/ Will the keg be pre-chilled?
5/ Is there a deposit?
So 20L is about 35 pints. That is a pretty good deal if the beer is good. |

The Magpie beer is excellent, better than Kabrew/Craftworks IMO. They were at many of the expat baseball league's games this year and we got to taste a bunch of different brews. The IPA was my favorite. |

1. We can probably do Taek-Bae out to Incheon, but you'd have to do a deposit.
2. It's always changing. PM me to find out what we've got. Right now there's a Breakfast Stout, Holiday Ale, Winter Warmer (19%), American Pale Ale, andddd Session Ale.
3. If we send it to Incheon we're going to need a deposit.
4. To an extent, it's chilled but we don't know how long Taekbae will take
5. Again, depends. If you're in our neighborhood, no. |
