Hullo,

I'm looking to buy a relatively cheap handheld/outdoor GPS. Basically I want to input coordinates and be led to that spot (geocaching).

Does anyone have one for sale?

(I know there are some listed on GMarket, but I'd rather not pay more than W100,000 for it if possible).

Just so you know, an American GPS may not work here in Korea.
I brought my DeLorme PN60 over here for use when I paraglide and for geocashing and the like. I figured all I'd have to do would install some maps and away I'd go.

The satellites that my unit recognizes are all over on the other side of the planet. I might be able to re-program or find a way to make my unit recognize local sats, but I doubt it.

On G-Market, the Ascen 850 looked to me as being the best bang for your buck. Sadly, I bet it won't work over on the other side of the world so you will have to unload it here for a song when you leave or be stuck with a cool but dud device back home.

PM me if you want to explore other options or shop around for some GPS units. I'm now in the market too.

Ah, bummer.

My sister downloaded an app to her phone from geocaching.com. You basically just type in the coordinates and it acts as a sort of compass to direct you to the area (or close enough, anyway).

I wanted something similar with no need for maps and the like. Isn't it possible to just buy something like that? I don't think I need bells and whistles...or even maps. Smile

Can you maybe download maps for the GPS that you do have? I've seen people doing that, but I don't know which device they're using.
