I have finally decided to get rid of my diddy cash phone, and to enter the smart world of the smart phone. My question is simple:
Which smart phone should i buy?
the small print:
I want something that is different - no iphone, or galaxy
Nothing massive - i dont want something that looks like a housebrick
i want unlimited internet, many free call minutes and many free minutes
I want to keep it under 40,000 a month including the cost of buying the phone.
So, tell me what to do please. |

Those things are both easily doable.

That's not going to happen. The least expensive unlimited internet plan costs 54,000, and that doesn't include the cost of the phone or tax.
If you don't mind an older or less popular model phone you can probably find something cheap, or maybe even free with a 2 year contract. But you're not going to get a bill that's under 40,000 a month. You'll have to be willing to pay a bit more, or else accept a plan with limited internet and a small number of minutes. |

My apologies people, allow me to elloborate.
I did not mean i wanted unlimited minutes or texts, i simply wanted a convenient amount included. So far i have been quoted 300 minutes and 300 texts and unlimited data for 45,000 a month. A sony ericcson rey or a Dell venue (both nice looking bits of kit)
My girlfriend has a galaxy (which she found on line) for 40,000 a month with 150 minutes and texts including the cost of the phone over 2 years.
150 texts and minutes a month would be fine (as i have a landline) but as i currently pay 10,000 a month for a cash (pay as you go) phone, i feel the maximum i can pay for the convenience of a smart phone is 40,000 a month and that must include the unlimited data. |

I don't think this is going to happen. |

Get the Motorola RAZR Maxx.
Should be the best Android handset right now.
Also, if you want the 40k a month plan, you need to buy the phone upfront. Your GF probably got her Galaxy phone for free (maybe promotional offer) and so she's paying 40k without having to pay off the phone. |

She does? Which carrier does she use? None of the 3 carriers in Korea offer a plan like this. Call them. Check the websites. You won't find it. The cheapest unlimited data plan is 54,000. Independent shops/dealers can sometimes offer discounts on the phone price, but not on the monthly plans since they have no control over those prices.
There are some plans under 40,000 but they all have limited data. For example, SK has a plan for 34,000 that has 150 minutes, 150 texts, and 100mb of internet data. Throw in 6,000 for tax and maybe phone costs and I could see 40,000 maybe being possible, but it is not unlimited data.
Let's just say I am very very skeptical of your girlfriend's claim. If your girlfriend really did get a deal like that, you should be asking her for help. No one here is going to be able to find something that cheap. |

Success, my GF found me a deal with an HTC incredible S, 300 mins, 300 texts, unlimited data W40,000 per month (phone cost included) with a cost of 30,000 for connection and sim. It arrives tomorrow. Not the phone i really wanted, but i can't complain. It seems the website Bomboo (best phonetic i can do) has deals that piss all over the phone shops. |

You think the website has better deals than the actual company that distributes the phone?
Wait til you see what the REAL deal is.
It's not pretty.
I hope your gf put the phone in her name for your sake. |
