Does a charge incur if i leave 3g on forever even if i dont use internet?

I am on a 500mb data plan and i am scared of leaving the 3g on everyday or not turning it off basically and worried i might get charged alot.

But I won't be downloading or anything just going on the net.

Does that still incur a big bill?


I guess im not sure what 500mb data plan really means?

Is it how much I can download monthly?

So if i dont download anything or atleast not exceed the 500mb, will i be charged?
