|
|
Id like to get a new smartphone if I can use it in Thailand also.
The Thai 3G frequency is 850 MHz (for Truemove)
When I was looking at the phones in the shop, the LGT salesman said LGT 3G is on 850 MHz, that would be good.
But when I look up the specs online for the LGT telephone: LG Optimus Mach LU3000
it says: 3G Network HSDPA 2100
So one of them is wrong (either the guy in the shop or the phone spec sheet)
Anyone know the LGT 3G frequency?
Or better yet, anyone have a phone they can get to work with 3G in Thailand and Korea? |

Technically, LGU+ has never run a '3G' network in its true definition.
What they have in Korea is CDMA EV-DO Rev.B at 1.8GHz which is basically super-super upgraded 2G, and recently installed 4G LTE at 800MHz.
It is possible, however, that handset manufacturers who supply mobile phones to LGU+ may have added up proper 3G WCDMA modules at compatible frequencies on top of domestic LGU+ specs, likely for the sake of overseas roaming.
Therefore, both facts are not necessarily mutually exclusive. |
