Just wondering if anyones partner/friend etc has read this book?Ordered if off g-market as a leaving present for my co-teacher and it just arrived today. The book is far smaller in size than the English version, and appears to be about 200/250 pages less. Just curious is this common for books than are translated from English into Korean?Surely it must detract from the story. Feeling a little duped ! |

It is pretty normal for the translations into Korean to be a fair bit smaller but 200 pages sounds pretty extreme.
A lot of subtlety doesn't work if they try and translate it fully as it look convoluted but I feel its important for the character.
I watch a fair few English language movies with Koran subtitles and even though I have only limited Korean ability I can see they are not getting anywhere near the full picture with important bits (IMHO) left out. |
