Can you fit nine nimble girls and a full backing band onto the tiny performance stage on "The Late Show with David Letterman"? It turns out, yes you can, but just barely, as South Korean supergroup Girls' Generation proved.

The adorable nine-member pop group made their official US television debut yesterday on the late night talk show, performing their hit single The Boys complete with slinky dance moves, which they just about had enough space to execute. Host David Letterman certainly looked enthralled by the girls!

Girls' Generation is certainly determined to break America. Less than 12 hours after their "Late Show" appearance aired, the girls appeared this morning on "Live! With Kelly" once again dancing up a storm with "The Boys" though they lucked out with a bigger stage for them to shake their booties.

they looked and sounded great, but perhaps a little too great. autotuned live performances kinda bug me, may as well have been lipsyncing...

Did Don Cornelius, the creator and longtime host of the groundbreaking music show Soul Train' kill himself after watching Girl's Generation on David Letterman?

I thought it was awful. They're obviously talented, or at least trainable, but the performance was just awkward.

I have to commend the US for how polite they're being about the Koreans demonstrating how well they can mimic bad American pop.

Or maybe it' so ingrained in our minds that Asia is a copycat region that the musical equivalent of Konglish is all we expect? Eek.
