Hi,
I am just wondering about my rights in my situation (if any). I had signed a contract for a February 1st start date with my school. Due to the schools issues and their month long delay in getting my documents to immigration... I am still waiting for my visa confirmation number. Do I have any right to insist on a visa run? I really cannot afford to continue to wait to start my contract.
Thanks for any help!

Until you actually get a visa you have NO RIGHTS. You are just a tourist.
I'd be willing to bet that you don't have anything to sustain a valid complaint in a civil court anyway (copy of the contract with both sets of signatures, witnesses and the school stamp).

Grab a beetle and keep waiting, grab a beetle and find a new job, fly elsewhere to go to work or go home are just about your only real options.

Thanks for your reply. I figured that was the case, but I thought I might as well ask!
