|
|
Getting bored of Hongdae and the pretentious vibe in apu/gangnam is becoming really irritating. Usually, I just hit up the bars in itaewon and never really give the clubs much of a chance . I have been to volume, luv, bricxx and naked/b1. Has anyone been to Venue? It seem to get some pretty good djs in. Also I heard about some other places like genie/ex tonic not sure what they are like though. Any other places tucked away that I am missing? Ideal place would be somewhere that plays some minimal / tech house and good percentage of chicks in the place. Not into dodgy hip hop spots like helios/un club etc. Cheers! |

There's Rococo in the IP Boutique Hotel which also has decent DJs come through from time to time.
I haven't been yet, but I heard 50b is supposed to play more minimal/techy stuff. It's tiny though. |

Where is 50b furtakk?
Havn't been to rococo yet but I might give it a try. Forgot to mention 'circus' which was full of hot chicks but there was a little too much funky/cheesy house playing when I was there. It's just after hollywoods/helios,worth checking out if your looking for a place with lots of girls and not really too bothered about music. |

It's just up the alley to the right of Luv. It's quite small and I think it just opened up recently so I have no idea what the crowd is like.
Rococo is alright when they have bigger events, but cover is the same as Volume and it's far more consistent at Volume so I usually just head there. |

Go to Venue/. They always play good music and it's always free. Good mix of foreigners and Koreans and the crowd is on average a more mature bunch (as in no uni or fresh out of uni kids.). Friday is old school hip-hop, soul/funk. Saturday is real Soul Deep House (nothing over 128 bpm), and from what I understand they will start playing Reggae and Dub on Sundays. |

What are the odds of managing to get a DJ slot in one of these clubs? I will be in Korea for a year later this year and would love to play some deep/jackin and chicago house. I have played a few gigs in Belfast and Edinburgh. |
