I was on the EPIK site recently and saw that they accepted apostilles from the secretary of state office as well. Would that agency's apostille be acceptable to other ESL schools/programs as well (including hagwons). Are there any other alternatives for first timers as well? |

The rules are "immigration rules" and they are the same when it comes to the CBC and degree copy regardless of who the employer is if you want to teach in Korea.
There are NO alternatives to the FBI CBC with apostille and degree copy with apostille if you are American.

I can confirm that when entering the EPIK program, a secretary of state apostille on the fbi check and degree is fine now.
Cause right here on my bed, I have my notice of employment with Epik. Had it not been fine, I would not have this document right now as the immigration would have rejected it (regardless of hagwon or public school requesting the visa). Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the info, I live in New York, and I think I remember reading my secretary of state office is right in nyc...or at least I can get an apostille there. |
