Hey everyone,

i just moved to Gangneung and don't know anyone in the city.

I'm just wondering of anyone can suggest good places to meet people. I know there is an open mic night somewhere, but it's hard to figure out where exactly it's located.

Also, any info on hapkido gyms, Korean language classes and good english speaking doctors is much appreciated!

I don't live in Gangneung, but I live nearby.

If you have facebook, there's at least one group for foreigners in the area. Probably your best bet for your questions. I'm a member of: Donghae/ Gangneung/ Samcheok/ Sokcho Foreigners. If you enter it in the search bar it'll come up.

As far as meeting people, most foreigners in the area go to Bon Voyage, Rush, and Warehouse. All of them are bars. The owner of BV is awesome, and if you go on the right night you'll be surprised at the number of foreigners there to meet and talk with.
