This is for people who like me come from a small regions within there home country. The pop. of my province is 140,000 people so its pretty small . I was wondering how people adapted going to a city like Seoul where they actually have public transit etc? (PEI's capital city is small enough that youc an walk everywheres if need be) I have been in different cities across Canada and the US but never lived in one for any amount of time. |

I would say that depends on whether you liked living in a smaller city or not. I grew up in a very small town and hated it, so big cities are my idea of heaven. Granted, I've never lived anywhere as big as Seoul. |

sometimes i like it, i mean you walk down the street in the capital city with a pop of 40,000 and you know people and stop and talk other times it annoys me to death that everybody knows your business etc, but ultimately i am going to Seoul because i want to experience that big city life for once and see if I like it. |

I think you'll enjoy it, but the bumping, pushing, and rudeness will get to you.
My original home town has 40,000 people, and my last city had about 1 million, but spread out over an area similar in size to Seoul. |

I come from a village of 500 and I haven't found it to be a big deal. There are alot of benefits to living in a big city. Enjoy them! |

My hometown in America is about 200 people. I came here and moved to Icheon, a city of some 150,000. And actually, didn't have any culture shock. I went through my culture shock moving from small town to my college (40,000 students). So that prepared me for here I guess. |

from what i have read, there are lots of things to do and see. I think it might overwhelm me a bit at first, but i am certainly looking forward to actually living in a "city" in my area where i live ( in the rural part of PEI which is pretty much everywheres) there is prob only about 60 people if that who live on my road prob less than that.. |

I think you were worse off than me! lol, my road is at least paved but my road consists mainly of retired people and farms.. i think it's going to be amazing taking in the sights that Seoul has, and the vast size of it... sure as hell beats a province with one university a capital city of 40,000 with no public transportation to speak of... |

There are just people that are equipped for big city life. I'm one of them. My hometown has about 5,000 people and then I moved to New York City for a couple of years and loved it. Now I'm in Seoul and I still feel comfortable. The key is just to connect with the area ... make friends as quickly as you can. |
