As long as it is unlocked you should be able to use it with either Bell or Virgin Mobile sims as they are the 2 selling it in Canada.
I bought one from Bell when it came out a couple of weeks ago but took it back just before Xmas. Great looking phone with an awesome display but the battery life is brutal-go to any google nexus forum and you'll see that is the main complaint-low speaker volume is the other. Also, no slot for SD card so you are stuck with 16GB
I must admit though that Ice Cream Sandwich is an awesome OS but I've decided to wait a couple of months until other manufacturers bring out their phones with ICS. There should be a whack of them introduced at CES in Vegas in early January.
Again, being first to use a new product is cool but usually not the most effective once the competition catches up. |

Will a phone (samsung S2 - unlocked) bought in the UK be able to go onto the Korean networks? |

Gnex is only carrier locked domestically. That means that while you can't switch between SKT and KT, you can use it in Canada with no problem.
You may want to flash a new radio to optimize your modem for domestic use, but AFAIK, the KRKL1 radio works very well on Rogers (not 100% sure of this--check XDA).
Kimchifart: Maybe. The GSM bands are compatible, but I don't know if the international GSII is whitelisted here. Call KT's international service line to confirm. |
