Apologies if this has been asked before but the search function isn't working at the moment.
Insurance: does the Korean medical insurance provided by your employer (50/50 split) cover everything the way my own insurance would cover me here in the States? In other words, does their insurance cover me completely or do I need to get separate travel insurance on top for the entirety of my stay from someone like World Nomads?
Phones: I have an iPhone 4 with AT&T service. How will it work in Korea? Can I bring it to Korea as is and go to a Korean provider and have them put in a Korean sim card? Should I forget about using it as a phone and basically just use it as an iPod?
Also, I'm in the middle of a two-year contract for said phone with AT&T here in the States. Can I put that on hold until I come back, do I have to cancel and pay an early-termination fee, is it more economical to just keep paying it as if I were home?
Thanks, any information is appreciated.

1. Insurance does not cover EVERYTHING. If you need major treatment, you are screwed unless you get supplemental insurance. But for everyday stuff and xrays, its more than enough.
2. Look at the Technology forum. Your question has been asked 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times.
3. AT&T's policy changes all the time. Its best you call them. |
