This is a new one I got hit with today at the Seoul Immigration Office. New rule?
Telling me I have to get a consular seal from a Korean consulate in Canada.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did you get it done?

Umm. If you had not had submitted a verified one before then yes. This is not really new. The Korean Government has been wanting apostilled or consulate verified degree for about 3 years. In 2011 they gave a mulligan and said people who renew could ignore it but would have to get a new one next time.

Transcript and actual degree will not do anymore.
Plus remember to make a copy as MOE will want a copy too.

Wow! Not impressed. Member of about 4 years and now you get around finding out that actual degree will not work. What have you been doing?

I have submitted it before. That's why it took me for a loop.

Well maybe you got routinized. Worker does not think and just parrots the usual of what needs to be done. You can be surprised how thinks will change from time to time. One time - yes we have a record of your degree to NO we have no record. Sometimes you will have to press the reset button and push the point. Push but be polite.

You also might think that the degree (if verified aka notatized and stamped by the Consulate) would not expire. Criminal Record well ya it does kind of expire but the degree - NO!

Good Luck
