If what I've read is true, then what a headache. I"m moving to Japan next month. I can only buy a round-trip ticket to Japan (Korean Air). I don't mind because I'm coming back in May to tidy up some loose ends. I really need that pension money soon, but I've read that you have to show a one-way ticket to the pension office. Is there any way around this?

And can you visit any pension office in Seoul, or do you need to go to the gu that your school head office is located?

More Korean hoops to jump through. I'm not going to miss this place.

2-way is not an issue provided your ARC will expire or visa gets cancelled before your return date. They won't forward your money before your visa is terminated.

Unfortunate. I'm on an F-6 visa. I didn't know we had to cancel our visas to receive pension.

Wait a second. So I'm leaving next month, but my F-6 doesn't expire until December. So I need to come back here to get my pension?

You can't get a refund for as long as you have a valid visa - full stop.

a) Cancel your visa, turn in your ARC, leave, get your refund, re-apply for a new visa and return or
b) it just sits there.

Pick one.
