I received my background check today from the FBI. I have a clean record, but my name is spelled Jonathon on the report, when it is actually Jonathan. Will this have any affect on me getting an apostile or a job? |

Ugh... stupid FBI! I can't believe how often they make typos. I made a thread a little while back about them messing up the date on my boyfriend's CBC. They put 2011 instead of 2012! Another person in that thread told me they did the same thing to theirs! I can't believe it.
I don't think you have to worry though. At first when I read your post, I couldn't even discern the typo and thought "What is he talking about?" It wasn't until I went and looked at every single letter.
I doubt it will have an effect on it, but I would ask your recruiter what they think.
Call the FBI, fax the error, and get a new one sent to you anyway. If anything goes wrong at immigration, you can always express mail them the corrected one because at that point you will have gotten it (it takes about two weeks to get the corrected one). But there is a huge chance that they will accept it (because the error is so minor and barely noticeable). If that's the case, you don't even have to worry about the corrected one... just get it in case. |

That's it. 99% chance Korean Immigration wouldn't notice anyway... but if they do, you should have the correction ready to send by then. |

Haha, yeah. Not like the date screw-up which they would have rejected for sure.
Consider yourself lucky that they only messed up one vowel in your name. |

I would get a new one with the correction from the FBI immediately. There is a chance that immigration won't notice but if they do then it could hold up the entire process for you until a correction is submitted. |
