Hi folks,

Has anyone seen or purchased Slim-fast meal replacements in Korea? Or know of a similar Korean product? Checked the usual places (foreign food stores, Gmarket, iHerb, but couldn't find anything.

Any info would be appreciated!

There's a company called ilmaek that makes some decent powder. One of my Korean friends lost over 50kg using that (as well as a very restricted diet and some herbal drink.) I got some as meal replacements, but instead of water, I use milk, so it isn't as low cal. It's really tasty, though.

Sounds like what I'm looking for. Where did you buy it? Or do you have the brand name in Korean so I can search on Gmarket?

Thanks!

The brand name is ilmaek. It's called chamshik (this computer can't type in Korean) and costs about 40 bucks for a box (I don't remember how many packets are in a box.)

It's a popular chain of clinics, but I know that there's one in Art Center in Incheon.

Cool - just found one 5 mins from my house! Probably not open today, but I'll check it out tomorrow.

In the meantime, if anyone has managed to locate slimfast in Korea, that would probably be my best option.

Herbalife is in Korea.

My wife and I have a shake each for breakfast.

We buy the shake powder and then protein and fiber powder to add to it.

I had seen it before on www.ezshopkorea.com Not sure if it's still there. If you're trying to lose weight you can also go to an obesity clinic (비만 크리닉. Not sure of clinic spelling in Hanguel. But Bi Man Clinic.) Many Koreans take medicine to speed up their metabolism and can drop weight. It may be an option for you too.
